Kippie, the little penguin, and his older brother Icy spent all morning building aВ snow truck. The bed ofВ their snow-truck sloped toВ the ground. The brothers thought about it aВ little more and shaped it into aВ slide.

The sun was bright. It sent a flash of diamonds across the snow, right under the little penguins’ feet. They were nearly done with their truck when their friends Toshka and Taya came out to play.

В«What aВ great snow-truck!В» Taya said.

В«And with aВ slide too!В» Toshka added.

В«Thank you,В» the brothers said.

В«IВ brought my paints and brushes,В» Taya said. В«Can we use them somehow?В»

Kippie thought about it for aВ moment.

В«What if we painted the truck inВ different colors?В» he asked.

В«Okay!В» everyone said.

Icy worked on the final details ofВ the truck, and Kippie and their friends set about painting different things on it. They painted aВ lightning bolt, several snowflakes, and aВ few funny faces. Then the friends also drew the letters they learned at school.

«Our truck-slide is ready! Let’s play!» Icy said.

The little penguins took turns sliding down the slide and sitting at the wheel ofВ the truck. When Kippie took aВ run down the slide, he went too fast, and flew straight into aВ snow drift. He went down head-first and sank into the snow.

Kono the raven and his friend Naya the plover were watching the little penguins. When they saw Kippie inВ the snowdrift, the two birds started laughing. They pointed at him and said,
