Three little kittens live with a mommy cat

In a cozy house where they play and nap.

Every day the Sun shines in the window bright

And fills their hearts with warmth and delight.

The Mommy cat says to her baby kittens:

"Come and drink some milk in the kitchen!

It will make you grow big and strong

And help you run and play all day long."

“This is the sofa for long, long, long sleep

Rest here, my kittens, and no mice will peep.

Cuddle, my furballs, and soon close your eyes

Then your dreams will be warm, sweet, and nice.”

“This is the window to watch outside

Look here, my kittens, I will be your guide.

Green's the grass, sky's blue, gold's the Sun,

We can sit here and have our fun.”

The Mommy cat says to her kittens:

"Come and sharpen your claws at the front door.

It will make you ready for the outside world.

And help you hunt and restlessly explore!"

But one day the sky was dark and gray,

And the Sun was nowhere to be seen or say.

The kittens wondered where the Sun had gone

And decided to go and look for it on their own.

They checked the hall with the fireplace warm,

But the Sun was not there, only a storm.

They checked the kitchen with the yummy food,

But the Sun was not there, only a mood.
